Who is behind Jihad Unspun?
You may have seen this web site:

Lest I seem to be over zealous in pointing the below items, I humbly ask indulgence from those who already know this information.
A posting that I just noticed under 'Features' near the bottom of the Home Page (though it was written on September 11, 2003 and maybe I have missed it myself all this time) on who is behind this site is very interesting:

When the site first came up, more than two years ago, I was immediately skeptical of its 'originators' as it was truly a highly sophisticated and well designed web site worthy of an "Intelligence Agency's" effort (as I did inform my friends at the time after verifying for myself that it is hosted in Vancouver, Canada), and that it is not the kind of work of 'free-lance' Jihadists.
It now seems (maybe very belatedly) that my first impression was mistaken.
Furthermore, what made me look again carefully at Jihad Unspun was the following:
Jihad Unspun usually translates (after a day or two) most of Islam Memo http://www.islammemo.cc/ news items that are in Arabic.
Islam Memo apparently had (and still does have) young reporters Everywhere in Iraq who have been reporting on Iraqi Resistance events practically within hours after their occurrence, with details on the destroyed, killed and injured and witnesses accounts.
Needless to mention, their daily news announcements differ very much (some claim very exaggerated) from what little of the actual Iraqi Resistance activities is actually allowed to filter through and is carried by the main stream media (be it the unabashed Western or the now emasculated Arabic media).
This is a sample of a recent news item from Islam Memo (or Mufakirat al-Islam) as translated by Jihad Unspun and not reported at all in the main stream media:

What piqued my interest to revisit Jihad Unspun in detail was their challenge to Islam Memo as to the reliability of their news items as per the following exchange between the two:

The debate between them, I believe, is still ongoing. If anybody is following it, I would appreciate a Comment.

PS: As Jihad Unspun is a feature-laden site with several interesting sections, many friends have asked me where on it would they find the translated Islam Memo (Mafkarat al-Islam) news announcements.
On top left column is the Mainstream News. That should be obvious (for all its worth).
On top right column is Uncensored News. That is where most of the translated Islam Memo articles are.
As for other interesting sections, take a look at Multimedia Room, for example, near the middle of left column, and their selection of video tapes.

Not only does she possess two identities, (has she got multiple personality disorder? or maybe she believes in reincarnation?), but she also seems to have severe amnesia - has she forgotten that Islam has spawned many of the world's worst terrorists who are spurred on and seek justification via the Quran?
Is she really that level-headed? She has started to wrap herself up from head to toe in pieces of black cloth to show that she is level headed? Or maybe she is doing an impression of a Black and White Minstrel'?

I like the difference in the pics of this woman! One pic, where she is wearin' western clothes, shows her smilin' freely...but when she in that stupid chadour (or whatever it is called), her smile is a bit strained. What's wrong with her? Is it not very Islamic for women to smile then? Or maybe there aint anythin' to smile about when she dresses like an undertaker?

WAR: SEE IT THROUGH EYES OF 11-YEAR OLD
Many of our soldiers in Iraq are dying. May cousin has finally gone back home to Georgia, away from the war. Every night and day I would think about him. Is he OK? What will happen to his only daughter if he dies? She is only 4 months old.
Our soldiers in Iraq need a long break, even though the Iraqis need our help. Our soldiers have a right to their lives. The soldiers in Iraq have families that want and need them back home. If the soldiers don't come home soon, most of these families will lose people close to them.
The soldiers did their job by allowing them to develop a democratic gevernment instead of a dictatorship. The dictatorship has rebelled against this and are killing our soldiers and innocent Iraqis.
We understadn the importance of the United States government, to free all people but at what cost?
The rebels could care less about the death of our American soldiers. They have succeeded in killing thousands of poeple during the Twin Towers bombing, just by killing themselves.
On Feb. 19, a soldier died at age 20 due to a roadside bomb while he was on foot patrol. Our soldiers don't deserve this. Death, war, and hate - we are turning into them.
Listen and think: do you now know that it is likd to hear about this war when you are only 12 years old.
The Iraqis will conquer our soldiers and keep on hurting the United States.
Please help the soldiers, by sending them home.

Who are these mudjack and telawrence people? Did they have mothers? Did their mothers teach them any respect? I wonder these things because talk like they were raised like mushrooms, in the dark. Can they learn that sometimes we don't always think the same but anyway we still can be polite? Or do they only know their mushroom beginnings?
Prof. Mamdani's article ("Inventing Political Violence" - above) outlining how the U.S. inadvertently created violent political Islam is instructive, indeed. Highly recommended to site visitors with enquiring minds!

Having lived in Southern Africa for many years I knew of America's direct complicity in regional destabilization and what rightly can be called "terrorism". The United States has a long and sordid history of covert support for terrorist groups that undermine the legitimate aspirations of democratic movements. It happened in Angola, Mozambique and South Africa, exacting huge human and developmental costs. And, this has happened and is happening in many other parts of the world, as indicated by Prof. Mamdani.
I do not believe the majority of Americans, were they properly informed, would support such activities.

30 years ago when they showed music videos in the middle east, I used to get embarrassed watching it. It was rather pathetic. Of course the locals did not know any better and it was their way.. There is nothing wrong with it, just that it was embarrassing. Watching my sisters 1 year old kid these days, she does the same thing, swinging her hair from side to side made me think of those old days with nothing else to watch on TV waiting to go to school. Jihad unspun does the same thing to me. Its like someone who does not know exactly what, trying to fit in to someone else's version of the world.
Its not like JUS releases their own PR or anything, so it really should not matter, they just find stuff out there and republishes it. I find the site somewhat embarrassing. But so what.

Some of the women of Balad have even joined the Resistance in the fight, along with their sons.

I don't have any respect for this Jihad Unspun or its lady owner. Jihad unspun in fact is just another propaganda machine, pure and simple. Its another version of al Jazeera or Fox News.
Why has the owner changed her ID? Your identity is basically who you are as a person. It is the individualistic thing that differentiates all people on this planet. Can you imagine if we all did the same thing after an ethnic group was targeted? The world would have been Jewish after the holocaust!!

I used to visit JUS faithfully every night to get real news from Iraq (Islam Memo) and other news. Recently, though, I discovered uruknet.info and I find it more informative and it also posts news from the resistance. JUS *is* pretty good, though. The server may be in Vancouver but I believe it is Bev's. (She was having problems getting hacked, went to the the Middle East to set up her business, didn't work out and came back)
Jihad Unspun's translations of Islam Memo were formerly just copies of the translations by "Free Arab Voice", whoever he is. Islam Memo contains little except fiction. I don't undertand Jihad Unspun's behavior. Maybe they are just trying to sell subscriptions, with no motive except money.

I think everyone needs to consider that the issue at heart is "who benefits?" At this point in time when it is becoming ever more obvious who was behind the 911 scheme and the myth about the 911 official report. The plotters need a new ideological enemy to progress their political/economic schemes; today Islam perfectly fits the profile of the threat to their Secular-Capitalist ideology.
Please consider looking at "David Ray Griffin" presentations on video.google.com; you don't have to accept any of it; but atleast consider looking at it.
As for the fate of the Muslim world and Islam (in particular), it would help to ponder upon this: despite all the negative publicity hurled at Islam and Muslims in the mainstream (western) media including RAND Corp's agenda for Islam, why are ever more people (especially women) embracing Islam? Moreover, why are the overwhelming majority of Muslims advocating the establishment of an Islamic System, where leaders are elected and laws are legislated by Islam and not by people (elite or otherwise)? Uzbekistan is just one obvious example.
And I leave you with 2 significant verses from the Quran. Think about these verses and reflect upon what is unfolding today with "the war on terror (ie. Islam)".
Quran:The Victory:[48.28] He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true way-of-life that He may make it prevail over all the ways-of-life; and Allah is enough for a witness.
Quran:The Immunity:[09.32] They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not consent save to perfect His light, though the unbelievers are averse.

Am sure there are people in your community who will pay the money for this woman. I too believe Islam has brought its fate upon itself. They bully people to obey their rules even though they live in countries that are non-muslim.
