The video, shot on Sept. 20, 2005 by KBR truck driver Preston Wheeler, shows what initially appears to be a routine convoy of sixteen-wheeler trucks delivering supplies to U.S. troops.
But the convoy enters tiny Iraqi towns along the highway and children begin throwing rocks at the trucks."

Robert Parry, Bush's 'Dirty War' Amnesty Law: The United States is following the lead of “dirty war” nations, such as Argentina and Chile, in enacting what amounts to an amnesty law protecting U.S. government operatives, apparently up to and including President George W. Bush, who have committed or are responsible for human rights crimes.
While the focus of the current congressional debate has been on Bush’s demands to redefine torture and to reinterpret the Geneva Conventions, the compromise legislation also would block prosecutions for violations already committed during the five-year-old “war on terror.”
The compromise legislation bars criminal or civil legal action over past violations of Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions, according to press reports. Common Article 3 outlaws “violence to life and person,” such as death and mutilation as well as cruel treatment and “outrages upon personal dignity.”

Jewish rabbi calls for extermination of all Palestinian males: Extremist rabbi Yousef Falay, who dwells at the Yitzhar settlement on illegally seized Palestinian land in the northern part of the West Bank, wrote an article in a Zionist magazine under the title "Ways of War", in which he called for the killing of all Palestinian males refusing to flee their country, describing his idea as the practical way to ensure the non-existence of the Palestinian race.

(As it states on the group's website). Followers of Kahane have been connected to a number of murders of Palestinians, particularly in the Hebron area in the southern West Bank. In the most well-known of such attacks, 29 Palestinians praying in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron were gunned down by Baruch Goldstein, a follower of Kahane, in 1994, with Israeli soldiers looking on and allowing the gunman to reload his automatic machine gun and continue killing innocent civilians. In response to that massacre, the Israeli authorities punished the Palestinian victims by taking over the Ibrahimi mosque and turning half of it into a synagogue, where Israeli settlers go to pray each week. And each year, on the anniversary of the massacre, Israeli settlers in Hebron dress up like Baruch Goldstein and parade through the streets of Hebron, firing guns in the air.

Something I have been meaning to mention to you for a while...
I usually try to watch these videos, but keep in mind that a lot of them are in .WMV (Windows Media) or .RAM (RealMedia) format -- these are both private, commercial, closed-source formats encumbered by DRM [Digital "Rights" (sic.) Management] formats that you have to install a proprietary player program on your PC, to use.
As I am strictly Open Source (I use Debian Linux here) I refuse to install this type of software, partly because there have been a number of documented examples of the Windows Media and RealPlayer software engaging in remote spying on you, for example secretly sending your play lists back to Microsoft or RealNetworks respectively. They claim that this is just for "statistics gathering", but I am highly suspicious of this and I wonder if, say, they are sending information on anyone watching Arabic-sounding videos to, say, the CIA, FBI or NSA. I only watch videos in MPEG-1 (.MPG) or MPEG-2 (.MP2, .MPG) formats, which are relatively unencumbered by this DRM nonsense and which can be played with almost all multimedia viewers. All things being equal, those are the formats you should use, if you can.

Something I have been meaning to mention to you for a while...
I usually try to watch these videos, but keep in mind that a lot of them are in .WMV (Windows Media) or .RAM (RealMedia) format -- these are both private, commercial, closed-source formats encumbered by DRM [Digital "Rights" (sic.) Management] formats that you have to install a proprietary player program on your PC, to use.
As I am strictly Open Source (I use Debian Linux here) I refuse to install this type of software, partly because there have been a number of documented examples of the Windows Media and RealPlayer software engaging in remote spying on you, for example secretly sending your play lists back to Microsoft or RealNetworks respectively. They claim that this is just for "statistics gathering", but I am highly suspicious of this and I wonder if, say, they are sending information on anyone watching Arabic-sounding videos to, say, the CIA, FBI or NSA.
