February 21, 2008 -- More details of UN Secretariat's 19th Floor revealed: WMR has learned from UN sources that the 19th Floor from which UN employee Maria DiBiase plunged to her death in the early morning of February 17, houses the Department of Peace-keeping Operations/Field Administration and Logistics Division (DPKO/FALD). The offices also house the code machines used for the encrypted fax machines used for DPKO activities in addition to a spare set of code machines used for DPKO rapid response teams.

DiBiase, an Austrian national, was a computer specialist for the UN and a former Conference Services staff member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria.

WMR has learned that the UN Special Commission (UNSCOM) maintained in a special UN's computer database all the files on Sadaam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction program retrieved from compact disks provided to UNSCOM by Saddam's government prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq. The database is said to include all the black market nuclear suppliers involved in providing materials to Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, and Libya via Turkey and the A Q Khan smuggling network. The list reportedly includes front companies in Switzerland linked to Marc Rich, the American fugitive pardoned by President Clinton, and Dick Cheney.

DiBiase is said to have arrived at work Sunday morning to finish a project that was due on Monday morning. WMR has been told that there may have been a "black bag" operation taking place on the 19th floor at the same time DiBiase arrived at work.

The UNSCOM files reportedly validate much of former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds' recent claims on nuclear smuggling that appeared in the London Sunday Times.

February 20, 2008 -- Police bagged hands of deceased UN employee: A report by UN reporter Matt Lee on the independent Inner City Press website indicates possible foul play in the fall on February 17 of UN staff member Maria DiBiase from the 19th floor of the UN Secretariat building in New York.

Lee reports that the hands of DiBiase were "bagged" by police investigators. New York Police sources told Lee that sometimes hands are bagged in order to preserve any evidence of a struggle. The UN has officially ruled out foul play in DiBiase's death.

WMR reported that DiBiase, an Austrian national, was a 13-year staff member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna and served as a clerk for the Conference Services section of the agency. The Conference Services section is responsible for planning the annual General Conference and smaller, more specialized technical meetings.

On May 31, 2006, WMR reported, "On May 26, Italian police discovered the badly decomposed body of Canadian diplomat Lewis B. Miskell in a Naples sewer. Miskell, 49, had been stabbed in the abdomen. Intelligence sources report that Miskell, who assigned to the Canadian embassy in Vienna, Austria, was the attache responsible for liaison to UN specialized agencies in Vienna. The most important UN agency in the Austrian capital is the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the nexus for nuclear talks with Iran and a significant activity surrounding the activities of the defunct Brewster Jennings Associates, the covert weapons counter-proliferation front company outed by the Bush White House. The clampdown on information about Miskell by the pro-Bush Stephen Harper government in Canada indicates that Miskell may have had an intelligence function and was operating under 'official cover' at the Canadian embassy in Vienna.
 

9/11 may have been an insiders’ job: In a significant observation many time UN contributor & international observer Professor Hans Koechler said “9/11 may have been an insider’s job” in response to a question from one of the delegates attending his lecture The 'Global War on Terror - Contradictions of an Imperial Strategy' last night at the Trades Hall in Auckland.

GOP Rep Calls For Bush/Cheney Impeachment: In a packed hearing room on Feb 19th, under a carved wooden sign reading "Live Free or Die", the New Hampshire House committee of State-Federal Relations and Veterans' Affairs heard testimony on Representative Betty Hall's HR 24, which calls on the U.S. Congress to begin impeachment hearings for George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

He [Member Vaillancourt] was fairly thundering by the time that he pronounced that not only should Bush and Cheney be impeached, but also they should be tried as war criminals in a Nuremburg style trial for crimes against humanity. He flatly stated that the war in Iraq has provided grounds for war crimes charges against the President and Vice President. And there was not one word of protest from a single committee member. They may or may not support this resolution to impeach, but there seems to be no one left with a credible argument to defend Bush/Cheney.

Sorrows of a nation with 1 million dead: The Association of Muslim Scholars' Al Basaer newspaper carried an editorial Wednesday with the headline "Sorrows of a nation with 1 million dead."

"One million Iraqis died in five years. … Still there is no glimmer of light giving us hope the occupier will leave our country even in the long term," the paper said.

It added that the death of 1 million Iraqis was announced last month by Human Rights Watch, which documented the deaths of 1,033,000 Iraqis between 2003 and 2007.

"This report means that the situation in the agonized Iraq is in continuous deterioration as 200,000 people have died each year since the invasion in 2003," it said.

"If people face death in Gaza, people in Iraq die everyday. If they have not enough electricity, Iraqis have no electricity or fuel or water for more than one hour every day. The barriers in the Occupied Territories in Palestine are similar to those in Baghdad," the editorial said.

It added that the U.S. influence on the Arab countries made the latter support the American- Israeli blockade on Gaza and align with the government in Ramallah in its struggle against the elected government in the Gaza Strip.

Bush’s dirty secret: Bribing Iraq insurgents not to fight - It is impossible to keep up with all the Bush regime’s lies. There are simply too many. Among the recent crop, one of the biggest is that the "surge" is working.

Launched last year, the "surge" was the extra 20,000-30,000 US troops sent to Iraq. These few extra troops, Americans were told, would finally supply the necessary forces to pacify Iraq.

This claim never made any sense. The extra troops didn’t raise the total number of US soldiers to more than one-third the number every expert has said is necessary in order to successfully occupy Iraq.

The real purpose of the "surge" was to hide another deception. The Bush regime is paying Sunni insurgents $800,000 a day not to attack US forces. That’s right, 80,000 members of an "Awakening group," the "Sons of Iraq," a newly formed "US-allied security force" consisting of Sunni insurgents, are being paid $10 a day each not to attack US troops. Allegedly, the Sons of Iraq are now at work fighting al Qaeda.

This is a much cheaper way to fight a war. We can only wonder why Bush didn’t figure it out sooner.

The "surge" was also timed to take account of the near completion of neighborhood cleansing. Most of the violence in Iraq during the past five years has resulted from Sunnis and Shi’ites driving each other out of mixed neighborhoods. Had the two groups been capable of uniting against the US troops, the US would have been driven out of Iraq long ago. Instead, the Iraqis slaughtered each other and fought the Americans in their spare time.

In other words, the "surge" has had nothing to do with any decline in violence.

With the Sunni insurgents now on Uncle Sam’s payroll, with neighborhoods segregated, and with al Sadr’s militia standing down, it is unclear who is still responsible for ongoing violence other than US troops themselves. Somebody must still be fighting, however, because the US is still conducting air strikes and is still unable to tell friend from foe.
 

DEMOCRATIC LUNACY: Many pundits are salivating over the prospect of a Democrat being elected to the White House in 2008. Finally, the eight-year-long nightmare of a George Bush presidency will end. To them, it’s a no-lose scenario.

Clinton has mumbled a few words about the U.S. leaving Iraq, but they are insincere. She was a strong supporter of the March 2003 invasion of Iraq. Here’s what she had to say about the situation five months before the destruction of the country:

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort and sanctuary to terrorists, including al-Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), Oct. 10, 2002

There was some shame involved when people asked her about her pro-war stance and her change, but she now has an excuse: Saddam did it. Recent re-writing of history has brought forth the myth that Saddam hoodwinked everyone by making it appear Iraq possessed WMD when it had destroyed its stockpile. Hillary was hoodwinked by Saddam.

This excuse is as bogus as any put forth by the people who lied to us about Iraq. Saddam certainly did not say he had rebuilt "his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program." U.S. intelligence agencies made those allegations. How can people be hoodwinked when it was they who affixed depth to the invisible Iraqi WMD program? The hoodwinkers now want to be called the "hoodwinkees."

Obama, like all the other politicians, now says the invasion was not handled properly. He does not say "the invasion was wrong." ...
