ـ"أكد البيت الأبيض، اليوم الجمعة، أنه تم تبليغه مسبقًا بالتوغل التركي في شمال العراق، مشيرًا إلى أنه طلب من أنقرة ضبط النفس دون إبداء أي اعتراضات على عملية التوغل.ـ
وكان الجيش التركي أعلن في وقتٍ سابقٍ اليوم، أن قواته المدعومة بالطائرات توغلت في شمال العراق لمطاردة متمردي الكردستاني.ـ
وأوضح بيان للجيش التركي أن العملية البرية تلت قصفًا جويًا ومدفعيًا استهدف معسكرات لحزب العمال الكردستاني من الجانب العراقي للحدود.ـ
وقد فجرت الطائرات التركية في قصفها ثلاثة جسور شمال قضاء العمادية، حسبما أفاد "راديو سوا".ـ
من جهتها، ذكرت الرئاسة التركية أن الرئيس عبد الله جول أبلغ مساء الخميس نظيره العراقي جلال طالباني بعملية التوغل في اتصال هاتفي أجراه معه ودعاه خلاله لزيارة تركيا."ـ

ـ"أفاد موقع إعلامي كردي بأن الشرطة النمساوية إعتقلت مسرور بارزاني نجل مسعود بارزاني ورئيس مؤسسة الإستخبارات في الإقليم مع خمسة أشخاص من أفراد حمايته بتهمة محاولة قتلهم لكاتب كردي يقيم في النمسا وأشار موقع (كوردستان بوست الكردي الواسع الإنتشار والذي يبث أخباره من العاصمة السويدية إستوكهولم نقلا عن مراسله في فيينا إلى أن "خمسة من أفراد حماية مسرور بارزاني أطلقوا النار من مسدساتهم يوم أمس على الكاتب الكردي الدكتور كمال سيد قادر الحاصل على الجنسية النمساوية وأصابوه بجراح خطيرة، وأن الشرطة وصلت في الحال الى موقع الحادث وإعتقلت الأشخاص الخمسة بالإضافة الى نجل الزعيم الكردي الذي كان معهم لحظة إطلاق النار.. يذكر أن الكاتب كمال سيد قادر كان أحد المعارضين للسلطة الكردية في الإقليم ، ونشر العديد من المقالات ضد العائلة البارزانية مما أدى الى إعتقاله أثناء عودته الى كردستان قبل عدة أشهر وتقديمه لمحكمة محلية التي أصدرت حكمها بالسجن لمدة ثلاثين عاما عليه، ولكن ضغوط دولية مورست على رئيس الإقليم أدت الى الإفراج عنه وعودته الى النمسا التي يقيم فيها"ـ

من هو كمال سيد قادر
.
This is a posting on Kamal Sayid Qadir, a Kurdish legal expert who is an Austrain citizen, with a Doctorate in Constiutional Law and another Doctortate in Political Science. He was condemed to 30 years in prison in 2005, in a trial that lasted for less than an hour, for writing against the corruption of the Barazani clan. The sentence was reduced to 15 years, and he was released in 2006 after intense international pressure. Now, the Austrian police have apprehended five Kurds, including Barazani's son, Suror, for attempting to kill Kamal in Vienna on Febraury 21, 2008. They injured him badly.

CURRY: They say we’re suffering because of this.

The above are the memoirs of an Iraqi lady broadcaster (in Arabic) during the 1991 war on Iraq which culminated in the bombing of the Amiriyah shelter where hundreds of civilians perished in an inferno:

"The Amiriyah shelter[1] was an air-raid shelter ("Public Shelter No. 25") in the Amiriyah neighborhood of Baghdad, Iraq. The shelter was used in the Iran-Iraq War and the Gulf War by hundreds of civilians. It was destroyed by USAF two laser-guided "smart bombs" on 13 February 1991 during the Gulf War, killing more than 408 civilians [1]. According to U.S. government sources, the attack was based on signals and human intelligence reports suggesting the bunker was a military command site."

"The planned reduction in the number of US troops in Iraq is to be put on hold, the US defence secretary, Robert Gates, indicated while visiting US troops in Iraq; following the statement of General David Petraeus that he wants to slow troop withdrawals, "to consolidate the past year's security gains".

Imad a 'terrorist'?

People have the right to defend their country from foreign occupiers, and people have the right to defend their country from invaders who are destroying their country". Three days before the Shelter bombing, Dick Cheney, and General Colin Powell visited the Air base at Khamis Mushat, Saudia Arabia (slogan: “bombs are us” and “we live so others may die”). After a pep talk to troops, they both signed two thousand pound bombs: “To Saddam with fond regards”, wrote Cheney (emphasis added) (“A General's War”, General Bernard Traynor and Michael Gordon, Little Brown, p324.)
A frantic investigation confirmed that their bombs had not hit the Shelter - and also confirm, then as now, how expendable precious souls are, to those in high places.

The only reason that they took the trouble to collate, English subtitle and post this interview with Norman Finkelstein in Lebanon on January 20, 2008 was the last sentence: "Israel has to suffer a defeat".
I wish that the English subtitles were not superimposed on and have truncated the Arabic translation, for what the Resistance means should be seen by many Arabs.
If anybody has the interview with the Arabic translation intact, I would appreciate receiving it to post it here.

"Now that the smoke has cleared and the rubble settled, residents of a group of bombed Iraqi villages see the raid as really a U.S. loss.
Many Iraqis view the attack Jan. 10 by bombers and F-16 jets on a cluster of villages in the Latifiya district south of Baghdad as overkill.
"The use of B1 bombers shows the terrible failure of the U.S. campaign in Iraq," Iraqi Major General Muhammad al-Azzawy, a military researcher in Baghdad, told IPS. "U.S. military and political tactics failed in this area, and that is why this massacre. This kind of bombing is usually used for much bigger targets than small villages full of civilians. This was savagery."
The attack on Juboor and neighbouring villages just south of Baghdad had begun a week earlier with heavy artillery and tank bombardment. The attack followed strong resistance from members of the mainly Sunni Muslim al-Juboor tribe against groups that residents described as sectarian death squads.
"On Jan. 10, huge aircraft started bombing the villages," Ahmad Alwan from a village near Juboor told IPS. "We took our families and fled. We have never seen such bombardment since the 2003 American invasion. They were bombing everything and everybody."
Residents said two B1 bombers and four F-16 fighter jets dropped at least 40,000 pounds of explosives on the villages and plantations within a span of 10 minutes. "

It may be that the CIA analysts most willing to listen to him were marginalized and even fired by the pro-war faction around VP Dick Cheney.
Other Iraqi scientists, such as Imad Khadduri, also tried to tell the world that Iraq had no nuclear weapons program. I cited this article at my blog before the war in Feb. 2003 at a time when the corporate media were parroting Bush's fantastic and false allegations.
Someone should do a study of how many times the corporate media brought Khidir Hamza, a Chalabi plant, on evening news programs in 2002 and early 2003, and look into exactly who kept booking him and who kept pushing him on the producers and why Tawfiq's and Khadduri's stories were buried. Hamza was a computer scientist who had something to do with the nuclear program for like six months in 1989 and had no way of knowing anything later than that, but he got all our media face time. The US media system is corrupt, and it is harming and sometimes even killing us."

Quoth Albright;
"The fact that we independently found this site by searching for a reactor either is one of the world's most remarkable coincidences or is further evidence that the site could be a reactor."

Anyone remember the first battle of Fallujah?

Amid all the killing that has gone on in Iraq since then, the battle has largely faded from public memory. But for those seeking to understand the past effectiveness of Iraqi insurgent forces, that first battle of Fallujah was highly significant. That is the conclusion of a secret intelligence assessment, prepared by the US Army's National Ground Intelligence Center and was recently leaked to Wikileaks, a Wikipedia for untraceable document leaking and analysis.
The assessment says:
"Codenamed Operation Vigilant Resolve, it was launched by US Marines on April 4, 2004, four days after four Blackwater contractors were killed there. Fallujah, and associated fighting in other parts of the country, can be considered the first Iraqi intifada against the US in Iraq.

خامساً: إنّ محاولة كريم تصويري وكأنَّي موالٍ لصدّام حسين لا تنطلي على مَن يعرفني، بل ولا على مَن اكتفَى بقراءة الافتتاحية موضوعٍ الدعوى. فهل يكون صدّاميًّا مَنْ يكتب أنّ صدّام حسين هو الذي بدأ الحرب ضدّ إيران "ولكن بتشجيع وتحريض وتمويل وتسليح وتأييد من قِبل الولايات المتحدة الأميركية والأنظمة الخليجية وغير الخليجية الموالية لها"؟ وهل صدّاميّ مَن يصف صدّام حسين بالديكتاتور؟ ولكنّ هذا شيء، والسكوت عن الاحتلال الأجنبيّ والاستبدادات والممارسات القمعية الجديدة على ما يفعل أدعياءُ "الوعي النقدي"، شيء آخر. إنّ ما فعله صدّام حسين ينبغي ألاّ يبرِّئ الولايات المتحدة من إزهاق أرواح مليون عراقي أثناء الحصار، ومليون آخرين منذ الاحتلال الأميركي عام 2003.. وكلُّه باسم الحرية وبناء الدولة!ـ
سادسًا وأخيرًا: قد ينجح فخري كريم في أن يُطلّ على الفضائيات يوماً بعد يوم، وخاصة بسبب موقعه الجديد "المرموق" مستشارًا لرئيس العراق (تحت الاحتلال وبسبب الاحتلال). لكنّ معركة الثقافة الحقيقية تكمن في الضمائر، وفي ذاكرة القرّاء جيلاً بعد جيل؛ فهم وحدهم الذين يقرِّرون مَن يُحبُّ العراقَ وشعراءَ العراق ومثقفي العراق!.ـ

تعقيباً على حملة الحقد التي يؤجِّجها فخري كريم ضدّ مجلة "الآداب" وضدّي، والتي تجلّت بصورة خاصة في المقابلتيْن اللتيْن أجرتْهما معه مؤخّرًا محطةُ "العربية" و"الاي.أن.بي."، يهمنيّ أن أوضح ما يلي:ـ
أولاً: لقد جاءت أقوالُ السيّد كريم في المقابلة التي أجرتْها معه المحطة الثانية مليئة بالمغالطات (كالإيحاء بأنّني تناولتُ في افتتاحيّتي في حزيران الماضي شرفَ زوجته!). كما تضمّنت شتائم بحقّ مثقفين لبنانيين وعرب (خير الدين حسيب ومعن بشّور بالاسم)، فضلاً عن تناوله بالتلميح شخصَ دولة الرئيس سليم الحصّ لتوقيعه على "ميثاق الشرف" (الذي سمّاه كريم "ميثاقَ العيب").ـ

ثانياً: أستغرب في هذا الصدد جهلَ مقدِّم المقابلة على "الاي.ان.بي." الزميل طانيوس دعيبس لمضمون "ميثاق الشرف". فهذا الميثاق، الذي وقّعه حتى الآن حوالى خمسمئة عامل في الشأن الثقافيّ والنشاطيّ، دعا إلى الردّ على الكلمة بالكلمة؛ فإذا امتنع الناشرُ عن نشر الردّ، صار اللجوء إلى القضاء مشروعاً من الناحية الأخلاقية. كما أنّ المقدِّم وضيفه الكريمين يتجاهلان أنّ افتتاحيتي في "الآداب" في الربيع الماضي لم تشجب مَن ذهب إلى كردستان ــ العراق أو إلى مهرجان "المدى"، وإنّما شجبت المثقفين الذين ذهبوا ولم يذكروا جرائمَ "الديموقراطية" الأميركية وفسادَ حلفائها هناك، وتغاضَوْا عن انتهاك حقوق الصحافيين، وتغلغلِ الموساد الإسرائيلي، وتاريخ "الرئيس" الطالباني، وارتكابات الحزبيْن الكردييْن الحاكميْن في الماضي والحاضر، وتاريخ فخري كريم السياسيّ نفسه. إنّ المقابلة، والحقُّ يقال، كانت نموذجًا للإعلام الذي يتماهى فيه مقدّمُ البرنامج مع ضيفه.ـ
ثالثاً: يصوِّر كريم نفسَه مستهدَفاً ومظلوماً، وأنّه يترفع عن توجيه الاتهامات. وأما الواقع فإنّ جريدته "المدى" ومقابلتيْه على المحطّتيْن المذكورتيْن مليئة بالتهم الباطلة (من قبيل زعمه استقائي المعلومات من السفارات والمخابرات العراقية السابقة)، ومليئة بالشتائم (كقوله إنّ كلَّ مَنْ عارضوه طوال ثلاثة عقود هم "زبالة وحثالة الوضع السياسي"). وقد وَصفت جريدتُه في افتتاحية أحد أعدادها أنصارَ "ميثاق الشرف" ومجلة "الآداب" بـ "أُجَراء الثقافة وتُجّار الأسلحة" و"زُمر عناصر المخابرات العراقية السابقة والمستفيدين من مدفوعاتها". ووصف أحدُ كتّابها (محمد مزيد) أنصارَ "الميثاق" و"الآداب" بأنّهم "لا يقلُّون فتكًا" عن أولئك العرب الذين "وَجدوا في المفخّخات والعبوات الناسفة التي تفتك بالجسد العراقيّ البريء تنفيسًا لغلواء نفوسهم المحتقنة". ووَصف كاتبٌ آخر، يضاهي محمد مزيد موهبةً، وهو عبد الرزاق رشيد الناصري، أنصارَ "الآداب" بـ "الجوقة التي رافقت سماح إدريس في عوائه الكريه (كذا!) وزعيقه المنكر". بل ذهب الأمر بأنصار جريدة "المدى" إلى إصدار بيان يتّهم "ميثاقَ الشرف" بأنّه "محاولة مريبة لتوفير غطاء نظريّ وتشريعيّ يعطِّل القانون ويَسمح بانفلاتٍ أخلاقيّ يكون مجاله الإعلان ووسائل الثقافة". وزعم البيان أنّ "الميثاق" يمهِّد الأرض أمام "البعض" للقيام "بمحاولات اغتيال" (أهذا تهديد مبطّن لـ "الآداب" وأنصارها بالمناسبة؟!). ـ
ترى مَن هم الذين يوفّرون مثلَ ذلك الغطاء النظريّ والتشريعيّ، ومثلَ هذه الأرضية الإرهابية؟ الرئيس سليم الحص؟ د. أنيس صايغ الذي تَشهد عيناه وأصابعُه على الإرهاب الإسرائيلي؟ الأستاذ شفيق الحوت؟ الوزير د. جورج قرم؟ المخرج المسرحي روجيه عسّاف؟ الرسّام كمال بلاطة؟ الخبير الاقتصادي د. كمال حمدان؟ الناقد الأدبيّ د. محمد برّادة؟ عالم الاجتماع د. مسعود ضاهر؟ الموسيقيّ د. نداء أبو مراد...؟ علمًا أنّ العرائض الأخرى المدافعة عن "الآداب" والرافضة لدعوى كريم عليها تتضمّن هاماتٍ ثقافيةً وأدبيةً أخرى لم يُعرف عنها لجوؤها إلى التحريض على الاغتيالات، أمثال الروائي صنع الله إبراهيم، والمثقف الكبير نعوم تشومسكي.ـ
رابعاً: إنّ آخر ما كان يهمّ افتتاحيةَ "الآداب" هو فخري كريم، كشخص. فالافتتاحية شبهُ مكرّسة لفضح المثقفين الذين سكتوا عن سلبيات التجربة العراقية الجديدة، وسكتوا تحديدًا عن جرائم الاحتلال الأميركي للعراق وخنوعِ المتعاونين معه وقمعِهم وفسادِهم... بحجّة جرائم النظام السابق وقمعه وفساده! ولو كان ثمة سوءُ نية مقصودٌ ضدّ شخص كريم بالذات، لا ضدّ ما يَرمز إليه، لما نشرت "الآداب" (وهي غير مجبرة قانونيّاً) نصَّ الدعوى المرفوعة ضدّها وضدّي وضدّ مديرها المسؤول ــ وهي دعوى مليئة بالمدائح السلطانية لكريم بوصفه "شخصية مرموقة مشهودًا لها ماضياً وحاضرًا..." وربّما ما بعد الأبد! ـ
كما أنّ محاولة تشويه الافتتاحية وكأنّها معادية للعراق، ولشعب العراق، ولأكراده، ولمثقّفيه، لا يصدِّقها أحد، بمن في ذلك الحاقدون على مسيرتها. فـ "الآداب" كانت وتبقى مجلة لكلِّ الناس في الوطن العربي، وبخاصةٍ لشعب العراق بكافّة مكوِّناته، ولاسيّما منذ الحصار الأميركي الجائر عليه. وكلُّ ما تطرَّقت إليه افتتاحيتي في ما يخصّ شخصَ فخري كريم لا يتعدّى السطور، وهو يتنزّل جزءاً لا يتجزأ من نقد تلك الافتتاحية لليبراليين الجدد الذين تخلوا عن وعيهم النقدي بقدرة قادر؛ بل هو، على كلّ حال، غيضٌ من فيضِِ ما يتداوله الناسُ عن الزميل كريم وعن تاريخه. فليَرفع الدعوى، إذن، ضدّ أكثر من سبعمئة مثقف وقّعوا على ستّ عرائض (صدرت في لبنان والأردن والولايات المتحدة ومصر وتونس)، وليرفعها تحديدًا ضدّ مَن طرح تساؤلات أكبر وشكوكًا أعظم حول أدواره الملتبسة أمثال: رشاد أبو شاور وعبد الحقّ لبيض وعلاء اللاّمي ونوري المرادي وطارق الدليمي وشوكت خازندار ومنذر سليمان وكمال خلف الطويل وطارق الكحلاوي وبيار أبي صعب ونهلا الشهال وأسعد أبو خليل وغسان بن خليفة ورحيم عجينة وباقر إبراهيم وجمال محمد تقي وعدنان حافظ الرمالي وسالم حسّون وحسقيل قوجمان وإبراهيم علوش وهشام البستاني وقيس عبدالله والحزب الشيوعيّ العراقيّ- المقاومة الشعبية والحزب الشيوعيّ العراقيّ- اللجنة القيادية والعشرات الآخرين (ولا أتبنّى أساليب بعضهم ولا بعض عباراتهم المهينة فعلاً بالمناسبة) الذين كتبوا صفحات لا سطورًا في هذه "الشخصية المرموقة".ـ

ثالثاً: يصوِّر كريم نفسَه مستهدَفاً ومظلوماً، وأنّه يترفع عن توجيه الاتهامات. وأما الواقع فإنّ جريدته "المدى" ومقابلتيْه على المحطّتيْن المذكورتيْن مليئة بالتهم الباطلة (من قبيل زعمه استقائي المعلومات من السفارات والمخابرات العراقية السابقة)، ومليئة بالشتائم (كقوله إنّ كلَّ مَنْ عارضوه طوال ثلاثة عقود هم "زبالة وحثالة الوضع السياسي"). وقد وَصفت جريدتُه في افتتاحية أحد أعدادها أنصارَ "ميثاق الشرف" ومجلة "الآداب" بـ "أُجَراء الثقافة وتُجّار الأسلحة" و"زُمر عناصر المخابرات العراقية السابقة والمستفيدين من مدفوعاتها". ووصف أحدُ كتّابها (محمد مزيد) أنصارَ "الميثاق" و"الآداب" بأنّهم "لا يقلُّون فتكًا" عن أولئك العرب الذين "وَجدوا في المفخّخات والعبوات الناسفة التي تفتك بالجسد العراقيّ البريء تنفيسًا لغلواء نفوسهم المحتقنة". ووَصف كاتبٌ آخر، يضاهي محمد مزيد موهبةً، وهو عبد الرزاق رشيد الناصري، أنصارَ "الآداب" بـ "الجوقة التي رافقت سماح إدريس في عوائه الكريه (كذا!) وزعيقه المنكر". بل ذهب الأمر بأنصار جريدة "المدى" إلى إصدار بيان يتّهم "ميثاقَ الشرف" بأنّه "محاولة مريبة لتوفير غطاء نظريّ وتشريعيّ يعطِّل القانون ويَسمح بانفلاتٍ أخلاقيّ يكون مجاله الإعلان ووسائل الثقافة". وزعم البيان أنّ "الميثاق" يمهِّد الأرض أمام "البعض" للقيام "بمحاولات اغتيال" (أهذا تهديد مبطّن لـ "الآداب" وأنصارها بالمناسبة؟!). ـ
ترى مَن هم الذين يوفّرون مثلَ ذلك الغطاء النظريّ والتشريعيّ، ومثلَ هذه الأرضية الإرهابية؟ الرئيس سليم الحص؟ د. أنيس صايغ الذي تَشهد عيناه وأصابعُه على الإرهاب الإسرائيلي؟ الأستاذ شفيق الحوت؟ الوزير د. جورج قرم؟ المخرج المسرحي روجيه عسّاف؟ الرسّام كمال بلاطة؟ الخبير الاقتصادي د. كمال حمدان؟ الناقد الأدبيّ د. محمد برّادة؟ عالم الاجتماع د. مسعود ضاهر؟ الموسيقيّ د. نداء أبو مراد...؟ علمًا أنّ العرائض الأخرى المدافعة عن "الآداب" والرافضة لدعوى كريم عليها تتضمّن هاماتٍ ثقافيةً وأدبيةً أخرى لم يُعرف عنها لجوؤها إلى التحريض على الاغتيالات، أمثال الروائي صنع الله إبراهيم، والمثقف الكبير نعوم تشومسكي.ـ
رابعاً: إنّ آخر ما كان يهمّ افتتاحيةَ "الآداب" هو فخري كريم، كشخص. فالافتتاحية شبهُ مكرّسة لفضح المثقفين الذين سكتوا عن سلبيات التجربة العراقية الجديدة، وسكتوا تحديدًا عن جرائم الاحتلال الأميركي للعراق وخنوعِ المتعاونين معه وقمعِهم وفسادِهم... بحجّة جرائم النظام السابق وقمعه وفساده! ولو كان ثمة سوءُ نية مقصودٌ ضدّ شخص كريم بالذات، لا ضدّ ما يَرمز إليه، لما نشرت "الآداب" (وهي غير مجبرة قانونيّاً) نصَّ الدعوى المرفوعة ضدّها وضدّي وضدّ مديرها المسؤول ــ وهي دعوى مليئة بالمدائح السلطانية لكريم بوصفه "شخصية مرموقة مشهودًا لها ماضياً وحاضرًا..." وربّما ما بعد الأبد! ـ
كما أنّ محاولة تشويه الافتتاحية وكأنّها معادية للعراق، ولشعب العراق، ولأكراده، ولمثقّفيه، لا يصدِّقها أحد، بمن في ذلك الحاقدون على مسيرتها. فـ "الآداب" كانت وتبقى مجلة لكلِّ الناس في الوطن العربي، وبخاصةٍ لشعب العراق بكافّة مكوِّناته، ولاسيّما منذ الحصار الأميركي الجائر عليه. وكلُّ ما تطرَّقت إليه افتتاحيتي في ما يخصّ شخصَ فخري كريم لا يتعدّى السطور، وهو يتنزّل جزءاً لا يتجزأ من نقد تلك الافتتاحية لليبراليين الجدد الذين تخلوا عن وعيهم النقدي بقدرة قادر؛ بل هو، على كلّ حال، غيضٌ من فيضِِ ما يتداوله الناسُ عن الزميل كريم وعن تاريخه. فليَرفع الدعوى، إذن، ضدّ أكثر من سبعمئة مثقف وقّعوا على ستّ عرائض (صدرت في لبنان والأردن والولايات المتحدة ومصر وتونس)، وليرفعها تحديدًا ضدّ مَن طرح تساؤلات أكبر وشكوكًا أعظم حول أدواره الملتبسة أمثال: رشاد أبو شاور وعبد الحقّ لبيض وعلاء اللاّمي ونوري المرادي وطارق الدليمي وشوكت خازندار ومنذر سليمان وكمال خلف الطويل وطارق الكحلاوي وبيار أبي صعب ونهلا الشهال وأسعد أبو خليل وغسان بن خليفة ورحيم عجينة وباقر إبراهيم وجمال محمد تقي وعدنان حافظ الرمالي وسالم حسّون وحسقيل قوجمان وإبراهيم علوش وهشام البستاني وقيس عبدالله والحزب الشيوعيّ العراقيّ- المقاومة الشعبية والحزب الشيوعيّ العراقيّ- اللجنة القيادية والعشرات الآخرين (ولا أتبنّى أساليب بعضهم ولا بعض عباراتهم المهينة فعلاً بالمناسبة) الذين كتبوا صفحات لا سطورًا في هذه "الشخصية المرموقة".ـ
خامساً: إنّ محاولة كريم تصويري وكأنَّي موالٍ لصدّام حسين لا تنطلي على مَن يعرفني، بل ولا على مَن اكتفَى بقراءة الافتتاحية موضوعٍ الدعوى. فهل يكون صدّاميًّا مَنْ يكتب أنّ صدّام حسين هو الذي بدأ الحرب ضدّ إيران "ولكن بتشجيع وتحريض وتمويل وتسليح وتأييد من قِبل الولايات المتحدة الأميركية والأنظمة الخليجية وغير الخليجية الموالية لها"؟ وهل صدّاميّ مَن يصف صدّام حسين بالديكتاتور؟ ولكنّ هذا شيء، والسكوت عن الاحتلال الأجنبيّ والاستبدادات والممارسات القمعية الجديدة على ما يفعل أدعياءُ "الوعي النقدي"، شيء آخر. إنّ ما فعله صدّام حسين ينبغي ألاّ يبرِّئ الولايات المتحدة من إزهاق أرواح مليون عراقي أثناء الحصار، ومليون آخرين منذ الاحتلال الأميركي عام 2003.. وكلُّه باسم الحرية وبناء الدولة!ـ
سادسًا وأخيرًا: قد ينجح فخري كريم في أن يُطلّ على الفضائيات يوماً بعد يوم، وخاصة بسبب موقعه الجديد "المرموق" مستشارًا لرئيس العراق (تحت الاحتلال وبسبب الاحتلال). لكنّ معركة الثقافة الحقيقية تكمن في الضمائر، وفي ذاكرة القرّاء جيلاً بعد جيل؛ فهم وحدهم الذين يقرِّرون مَن يُحبُّ العراقَ وشعراءَ العراق ومثقفي العراق!.ـ

Yet another badge of shame ... مقتل مليون عراقي منذ الغزو

Agence France Press (AFP) finally wrote a piece on the 1 million Iraqis massacred since 2003. Add to that the 1.5 million during 13 years of sanctions and add to that an unknown number of missing persons and add to that 4.5 million in exile or displaced and add to that all those who were tortured, raped, maimed, and crippled by your liberation.
Bravo Americans, you won the jackpot. You won over 2.5 million Iraqi corpses. And you may share the 4.5 million in exile or displaced as as bonus. As for the missing persons and the maimed - well that is your joker for your next game.
Next time anyone tells me that Americans are a kind, honest, peace loving people, I will spit and vomit these figures in his or her face.
