What has Dick Cheney really accomplished in Iraq?
- An estimated 4 million Iraqis, out of 27 million, have been displaced from their homes, that is, made homeless. Some 2.7 million are internally displaced inside Iraq. A couple hundred thousand are cooling their heels in Jordan. And perhaps a million are quickly running out of money and often living in squalid conditions in Syria. Cheney's war has left about 15% of Iraqis homeless inside the country or abroad. That would be like 45 million American thrown out of their homes.
- It is controversial how many Iraqis died as a result of the 2003 invasion and its aftermath. But it seems to me that a million extra dead, beyond what you would have expected from a year 2000 baseline, is entirely plausible. The toll is certainly in the hundreds of thousands. Cheney did not kill them all. The Lancet study suggested that the US was directly responsible for a third of all violent deaths since 2003. That would be as much as 300,000 that we killed. The rest, we only set in train their deaths by our invasion.
- Baghdad has been turned from a mixed city, about half of its population Shiite and the other half Sunni in 2003, into a Shiite city where the Sunni population may be as little as ten to fifteen percent. From a Sunni point of view, Cheney's war has resulted in a Shiite (and Iranian) take-over of the Iraqi capital, long a symbol of pan-Arabism and anti-imperialism.

The Islamic Mission (Da'wa) Party is the oldest ideological Shiite party working for an Islamic state. It helped form Hizbullah in Beirut in the early 1980s. It has supplied both prime ministers elected since 2005. Fundamentalist Shiites shaped the constitution, which forbids the civil legislature to pass legislation that contravenes Islamic law. Dissidents have accused the new Iraqi government of being an Iranian puppet.
- Arab-Kurdish violence is spiking in the north, endangering the Obama withdrawal plan and, indeed, the whole of Iraq, not to mention Syria, Turkey and Iran.
- Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi women have been widowed by the war and its effects, leaving most without a means of support. Iraqi widows often lack access to clean water and electricity. Aljazeera English has video.
- $32 billion were wasted on Iraq reconstruction, and most of it cannot even be traced. I repeat, Cheney gave away $32 bn. to anonymous cronies in such a way that we can't even be sure who stole it, exactly. And you are angry at AIG about $400 mn. in bonuses! We are talking about $32 billion given out in brown paper bags.
- Political power is being fragmented in Iraq with big spikes in the murder rate in some provinces that may reflect faction-fighting and vendettas in which the Iraqi military is loathe to get involved.
- The Iraqi economy is devastated, and the new government's bureaucracy and infighting have made it difficult to attract investors.
- The Bush-Cheney invasion helped further destabilize the Eastern Mediterranean, setting in play Kurdish nationalism and terrifying Turkey.

Cheney avoids mentioning all the human suffering he has caused, on a cosmic scale, and focuses on procedural matters like elections (which he confuses with democracy-- given 2000 in this country, you can understand why). Or he lies, as when he says that Iran's influence in Iraq has been blocked. Another lie is that there was that the US was fighting "al-Qaeda" in Iraq as opposed to just Iraqis. He and Bush even claim that they made Iraqi womens' lives better.
The real question is whether anyone will have the gumption to put Cheney on trial for treason and crimes against humanity".

March 25-26, 2009 -- Oklahoma City bombing was a Mossad-German intelligence operation: According to a former investigative reporter for CBS News, who spoke to WMR on background, the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Office Building on April 19, 1995 was the result of a closely coordinated plot by domestic espionage assets of Israel's Mossad and a German intelligence asset to pin blame for the bombing on Arabs in the United States and link the attack to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
The official conclusion of federal prosecutors were that Army veteran Timothy McVeigh and his colleague Terry Nichols were solely to blame for the bombing that killed 169 people, including 19 children, and was, at the time, the deadliest terrorist attack ever to be carried out on American soil. The FBI ruled out any foreign connections to McVeigh and Nichols. McVeigh was executed by lethal injection after his conviction on 11 federal counts on June 11, 2001. Nichols was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the bombing.
The CBS News source tracked McVeigh to a right-wing and outwardly anti-Semitic"Christian Identity" compound known as Elohim City, Oklahoma and a German intelligence officer named Andreas Strassmeier, who spoke Hebrew and who had been married to an Israeli national. Strassmeier had infiltrated the Elohim City group. Strassmeier was the son of Gunther Strassmeier, the chief of staff to German Chancellor Helmut Kohl.
What soon became obvious to the CBS News source was that Strassmeier was the tip of a plot to blow up the Murrah buildng that involved not only a German intelligence asset, Strassmeier, but Israel's Mossad and key officials in the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF).
The source also confirmed that a prison inmate named Kenny Trentadue, who was being held at the Federal Transfer Center for prisoners in Oklahoma City and who was mistaken by FBI interogators as the mysterious "John Doe number 2" accomplice of McVeigh, was beaten to death in the federal facility on August 21, 1995, two days after the Murrah bombing. Trentadue was arrested on the Mexican border on June 10, 1995, for driving on a suspended license.The source said the FBI concocted a story that Trentadue had committed suicide even though there was forensic evidence that he had been beaten to death.
In the days after the Murrah building bombing, a number of Arab-Americans were detained and questioned by federal authorities until it was announced that the bombing was carried out by right-wing elements to avenge the government's siege of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas two years before.
Although the Strasmeier and Israeli connection to Oklahoma City was delved into by elements of the European media, the story never saw the light of day in the U.S. corporate media and much of the details have been relegated to Internet web sites.
Israeli false flag attacks on U.S. targets continue to this day and appear to be the rule rather than the exception. On March 23, a Yemeni court sentenced one man to death and two others to prison sentences for spying for Israel. The three Yemenis, including their Mossad-run leader, Bassam Abdullah al-Haidari, were said to have volunteered their services directly to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who accepted. The group established a false flag group called the "Islamic Jihad of Yemen," which claimed to have bombed the U.S. embassy in Sana'a last September, killing 18, including six attackers. Six Islamic Jihad of Yemen suspects were arrested in October 2008 and three were released due to lack of evidence.
The Israeli involvement in the attack on the American embassy in Yemen is the latest in a long history of attacks on U.S. targets by the Mossad that were made to look like they were carried out by Arabs. In 1968, King Hussein of Jordan accused Israel of being behind the group Kateb al Nasr, which staged a stone attack on the U.S. embassy in Amman that resulted in widespread violence that caused the deaths of 29 people. Hussein said Jordan had fallen victim to "another Lavon affair," a reference to a 1954 Mossad attack on the U.S. Information Service library in Cairo that was made to appear that it was carried out by Egypt. The operation was organized by Israeli Defense Minister Pinhas Lavon.

March 25-26, 2009 -- Race to the moon for helium-3: According to Gordon Thomas' new book Secret Wars: One hundred years of British Intelligence - Inside MI5 and MI6, the United States and Britain on one side and Russia and China on the other, are engaged in a secretive operation to deploy a moon base to mine helium-3. Thomas states that British scientists have calculated that a mere six metric tons of helium-3 could meet Britain's annual energy needs well into the future. British scientists have determined that there are over one hundred million tons of helium-3 nine feet under the lunar surface.
Thomas writes that NASA and the European Space Agency have an ambitious joint plan to establish a lunar polar base to mine the helium-3 by 2014. The plan is to use giant space tankers to ship the gas to terrestrial landing sites where the gas would be transferred to new fusion reactors.
Thomas reports that MI-6 discovered in May 2007 that Russia's Roscosmos federal space agency and China's Lunar Exploration Agency had a head start over the Americans and Europeans on mining helium-3 on the moon. A joint Russian-Chinese lunar mission would mine helium-3, transport it back for domestic Russian and Chinese needs, and market the remainder to the rest of the world at prices set by Moscow and Beijing.
MI-5 and MI-6 began to explore the possibility of a space war between Europe and America on one side and Russia and China on the other over control of the moon's helium-3. Contingency plans were made to protect British helium-3 reactor and cargo landing sites in remote moorlands in Scotland and on the western part of England. Cyber-defenses were also planned to be beefed up to deter possible cyber-sabotage of incoming space cargo vehicles with a devastating impact.
Thomas' information on a major secret lunar mining project raises an important issue. With such a monumental cost associated with such a project, where is the money coming from? The intersection of the City of London banking infrastructure in the massive financial scandals of the past few years may yield important clues.

وين لاين جورنال) ـ وين ماديسن ـنشرت وكالة وين ماديسن ريبورت تقريرا خطيرا عن محاولات أسرائيلية بالتعاون مع مسؤوليين أكراد توسيع استيطان
ديني كجزء من خطط ( اسرائيل التوراتية الكبرى ) في شمال العراق وفي مناطق
يبسط الأكراد سلطاتهم عليها حسب ماجاء في التقرير , ويقول كاتب
التقرير وين ماديسين (( أن الأسرائيلين يوجهون أنظارهم الآن الى اجزاء من العراق التي تعتبر
بأنها تشكل جزءا من ( أسرائيل الكبرى التوراتية ) . وأن أسرائيل تخطط
لنقل الاف من اليهود الأكراد من أسرائيل وبينهم بعض أكراد ايران لأعادة
توطينهم في مدينة الموصل وفي مناطق أخرى تحت ستار الحج الى المزارات
الدينية اليهودية هناك .
ووفقا لمصادر كردية فأن الأسرائيلين يعملون مع الحكومة الأقليمية
لكردستان للقيام بعملية (دمج ) الأكراد وغيرهم من اليهود في مناطق عراقية
تقع تحت سيطرةالحكومة الأقليمية .
وقد لاحظ الأكراد والعرب العراقيون السنة والتركمان أن الأسرائيلين
الأكراد شرعوا في شراء الأراضي في كردستان العراق بعد الغزو الأمريكي
للعراق في آذار 2003 خاصة تلك التي تعتبر بأنها ( أملاك يهودية تأريخية
ويهتم الأسرائيليون بصفة خاصة بضريح النبي اليهودي (ناحوم ) في ألقوش ,
وبضريح النبي نوح في الموصل ومقبرة النبي ( دانيال ) في كركوك.
كما يحاول الأسرائيليون أيضا المطالبة بـ (الأملاك ) اليهودية خارح
المنطقة الكردية بما في ذلك ضريح ( حزقيال ) في قرية الكفل في محافظة
بابل قرب النجف .ومقبرة ( أيزرا ) في ميسان قرب البصرة وكلاهما في
المناطق الحنوبية التي يسيطر عليها الشيعة .
كما ينظرالأسرائيليون الى هذه الأضرحة والمدافن على أنها جزءا من
اسرائيل الكبرى التوراتية ) مثل القدس والضفة الغربية التي يطلقون عليها
لقبها التأريخي ( يهودا والسامرا )
وتقول المصادر الكردية والعراقية ان ( الموساد ) الأسرائيلي يعمل
بالتعاون مع مؤسسات يهودية والشركات الأسرائيلية السياحية بصورة وثيقة
للتقدم ببمطالبات بـ( أملاك ) يهودية قديمة عائدة الى اسرائيل في العراق
.ويستخدم ( الموساد ) نفوذه في المنطقة بأعتباره يشارك بقوة في تدريب
قوات البيشمركة العسكرية الكردية .

I've talked with Palestinians. I have yet to meet a Palestinian who hasn't lost a member of their family to the Israeli Shoah, nor a Palestinian who cannot name a relative or friend languishing under inhumane conditions in an Israeli prison. Time and time again, Israel is cited for human rights violations to no avail. On a recent trip to Israel, I visited the refugee camps inhabited by a people who have waited 52 years in these 'temporary' camps to go home. Every Palestinian grandparent can tell you the name of their village, their street, and where the olive trees were planted. Their grandchildren may never have been home, but they can tell you where their great-grandfather lies buried and where the village well stood.
The press has fostered the portrait of the Palestinian terrorist. But, the victims who rose up against human indignity in the Warsaw Ghetto are called heroes. Those who lost their lives are called martyrs. The Palestinian who tosses a rock in desperation is a terrorist.

Having concentrated his post-Downing Street apologetics on a BBC series of obsequious interviews with David Aaronovitch, Blair has all but slipped from view in Britain, where polls have long revealed a remarkable loathing for a former prime minister — a sentiment now shared by those in the liberal media elite whose previous promotion of his "project" and crimes is an embarrassment and preferably forgotten.
These are extraordinary times. Blair, a perpetrator of the epic crime of the 21st century, shares a "prayer breakfast" with President Obama, the yes-we-can-man now launching more war. "We pray," said Blair, "that in acting we do God’s work and follow God’s will." To decent people, such pronouncements about Blair’s "faith" represent a contortion of morality and intellect that is a profananation on the basic teachings of Christianity. Those who aided and abetted his great crime and now wish the rest of us to forget their part — or, like Alistair Campbell, his "communications director," offer their bloody notoriety for the vicarious pleasure of some — might read the first indictment proposed by the Blair War Crimes Foundation: "Deceit and conspiracy for war, and providing false news to incite passions for war, causing in the order of one million deaths, 4 million refugees, countless maiming and traumas."
