Israeli Attack on Iran Appears Imminent: ... During the past few days, Israeli warships and one or more of its German-built submarines have passed through the Suez Canal to the Red Sea. The desperate attempts by Zionist-controlled governments (U.S. and U.K.) and media to destabilize the Iranian regime after the recent election clearly failed, which makes it all the more likely that the Israelis will resort to force and launch an attack in the coming days.

If this happens it will be an Israeli-American attack using American technology and military support although the U.S. role will be kept in the shadows. Despite the posture taken by President Obama to be willing to negotiate with Iran and keep Israeli aggression in check in the Palestinian territories and the region, these are only shallow poses.

The Obama administration remains a completely Zionist-controlled government (controlled by Rahm Emanuel, the son of a Zionist terrorist) and will certainly support Israeli aggression against Iran in the same way it supported Israel's criminal assault on the defenseless population of Gaza. President-elect Obama said at the time that he would have plenty to say after he was inaugurated. He never said anything. He is a Zionist stooge and will not stand up against his Jewish handlers and bosses.
 

Al-Jazeera journalist imprisoned in Guantánamo Bay to sue George Bush: The case will be initiated by the Guantánamo Justice Centre, a new organisation open to former prisoners at the US base, which will set up its international headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, later this month.

"The purpose of our organization is to open a case against the Bush administration," said co-founder Sami al-Haj, an al-Jazeera reporter from Sudan who was illegally detained by US authorities for over six years after being captured while he was working as a cameraman. He was freed in May 2008.

Al-Haj, who is back at work for the Arabic satellite channel in Qatar, is in frequent contact with Guantánamo detainees, both past and present.

"Torture is continuing in Guantánamo," al-Haj said. "Obama needs to close Guantánamo immediately."

Al-Haj said he was questioned by British intelligence officers during his detention, once in Kandahar in March 2002, and another time at Guantánamo later that same year. He said: "They asked me questions about al-Jazeera, whether it had links with al-Qaeda. They asked me questions about the British detainees at Guantánamo.

"They told me I should cooperate with the Americans and work as a spy," upon his release.
 

MUZZLING PRESS FREEDOM IN PALESTINE: The recent decision by the Ramallah-based regime to close down the al-Jazeera offices in the West Bank illustrates the vulnerability and utter stupidity of the American-backed and Israeli-tolerated junta.

The decision came a day after Fatah Secretary-General Farouk Kaddoumi appeared on al-Jazeera, accusing Palestinian Authority Leader Mahmoud Abbas and his aide, former Gaza strong man Muhammed Dahlan, of complicity in poisoning the late Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat.
 

Iraq Restricts U.S. Forces : The Americans have been taken aback by the new restrictions on their activities. The Iraqi order runs "contrary to the spirit and practice of our last several months of operations," Maj. Gen. Daniel P. Bolger, commander of the Baghdad division, wrote in an e-mail obtained by The Washington Post.

"Maybe something was 'lost in translation,' " Bolger wrote. "We are not going to hide our support role in the city. I'm sorry the Iraqi politicians lied/dissembled/spun, but we are not invisible nor should we be." He said U.S. troops intend to engage in combat operations in urban areas to avert or respond to threats, with or without help from the Iraqis.

"This is a broad right and it demands that we patrol, raid and secure routes as necessary to keep our forces safe," he wrote. "We'll do that, preferably partnered."

Soldiers in Colorado slayings tell of Iraq horrors: "Toward the end, we were so mad and tired and frustrated," said Daniel Freeman. "You came too close, we lit you up. You didn't stop, we ran your car over with the Bradley," an armored fighting vehicle.

With each roadside bombing, soldiers would fire in all directions "and just light the whole area up," said Anthony Marquez, a friend of Freeman in the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment. "If anyone was around, that was their fault. We smoked 'em."

Taxi drivers got shot for no reason, and others were dropped off bridges after interrogations, said Marcus Mifflin, who was eventually discharged with post traumatic stress syndrome.

Both soldiers were wounded, sent back into action and saw friends and officers killed in their first deployment. On numerous occasions, explosions shredded the bodies of civilians, others were slain in sectarian violence — and the unit had to bag the bodies.

"Guys with drill bits in their eyes," Eastridge said. "Guys with nails in their heads."

Another sergeant shot a man in the head while questioning him, lashed the man's body to his Humvee and drove around the neighborhood. Needham also claimed sergeants removed victims' brains.

To answer a question like this we need to discuss the birth of European Imperialism - the idea that Europeans have the right to control the lands and people in any other part of the world.
