Iraqi photojournalists - and the tragedy of the criminal war on the Iraqi people

.
"Nearly nine years of war in Iraq have produced a growing cadre of world-class, homegrown Iraqi news photographers. Some started out with little technical knowledge but a strong desire to document their country’s experience. Within months, they were producing work that became increasingly crucial to the world’s understanding of Iraq. These are the stories of five of those photojournalists, with a sampling of their images."

Imad,

I have no words with which to cpmment.

When one is politically biased to one side or another it is easy for them to talk about the “criminal war on the Iraqi people” as they always so passionately blame it all on the imperialists and the invaders. If we are honestly unbiased then we would condemn all killing of innocents from all sides of the struggle. However, it is just possible that had the followers of the past regime (mostly die-hard ba’athists) not used indiscriminate violence against their Iraqi Shi’a brothers, the numbers of victims would have been much reduced. Just ask yourself, how many car bombs were exploded by these killers in crowded markets, in schools, during funerals processions, in order to arouse sectarian violence? How many times have they attacked lines of recruits in the new Iraqi police and Army, and how many times have they bombed their mosques? How many innocent victims did all these acts of violence either kill or maim? Now that these killers have got their wish and the “invaders” have pulled out, is their hunger for killing and chaos still not satisfied? Perhaps not. As we speak, more car bombings have taken place in the past couple of days with more innocents murdered, so the “criminal war on the Iraqi people” apparently by other Iraqi people CONTINUES!!! Some Iraqis may be forgiven to think it will only stop when the next dictator comes along to rule over them with an iron fist. That would of course only be a recipe for more disaster as the violent history of Iraq would surely repeat itself. God only knows when people in Iraq will learn to be less greedy for power and instead learn to be humble and contented to share power? Don’t all religions, including Islam, teach us to have humility? The sad thing is that although many of the Iraqis are well educated in the West they are still just as selfish and corrupt and manipulative as they come! Instead of these clever highly educated Iraqis keeping on blaming the west and even Iran, they should dust themselves up and use their energies to destroy their differences in opinion and build together a new democratic and prosperous and progressive Iraq. This can only happen if through ‘correct’ education and tolerance the ‘killer instinct’ is exorcised from the Iraqi mindset. The ball is in the Iraqis' court now. We can only hope they use it wisely.

Have you not heard of the "Salvador Option", the Iranian Quds Force and Al-Qaeda (which were not in Iraq before 2003)? Look them up in Wikipedia and WAKE UP.
